This Is Africa 2021-2022 Event

This Is Africa 2021-2022 is a collaborative work by 36 creative individuals, creative practitioners, local voluntary organisations and businesses who together have planned and will deliver 15 exciting events during the year of culture.


The Walk Event

The Walk is an international arts festival meets endurance event. Little Amal will travel 8,000km to focus awareness on the refugee crisis. She will travel through 8 countries, welcomed by hundreds of cultural events in cities, towns and villages all along her route. The length and sheer size of the challenge is capturing imaginations even before her first step.


Like There’s No Tomorrow Event

As we enter Coventry’s year of culture, the Belgrade Youth Theatre present Like There’s No Tomorrow – one of the first National Theatre Connections plays to be created by young people, originally devised by Belgrade’s Young Company in March 2020.


Coventry Biennial Event

The third Coventry Biennial will take place from October 2021 until January 2022 across Coventry and Warwickshire in a wide range of artistic, heritage, business and community locations. Titled Hyper-Possible, referencing the radical nature of Coventry’s history, the Biennial will open to the public from Friday 8 October 2021.


Contains Strong Language Event

The BBC’s poetry and spoken word festival Contains Strong Language will be coming to Coventry in September 2021 for the biggest celebration of poetry ever seen in the region.
