Coventry and Warwickshire Growth Deal 2015/2016 Evaluation

Acting as a sub-consultant to policy consultancy Carney Green, Nick Henry provided expert peer review on evaluation methodology and local economic development context. The aim of the evaluation was a) to assess the process of initial development and set-up of the Growth Deal Programme and its assurance infrastructure and b) report on initial project progress and impact.


Preventing Motion Sickness in Automated Vehicles

The overall aim of this JIP accordingly is to avoid or minimise the occurrence of motion sickness in automated vehicles. The project aims at realising this by explicating the underlying causes of motion sickness in automated vehicles, adopt reliable, sensitive, and valid methods to assess its occurrence, and sketch ways it can be mitigated by adapted (automated) vehicle design and/or other countermeasures.

An Examination of Customer Engagement on Mobile Apps

The objective of the study is to examine the factors that drive customer engagement on mobile phones apps. The study assesses the role of mobile apps in two mega events; Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Economic intelligence for the Coventry and Warwickshire LEP

This project showcases the important relationships the Centre has with economic development agencies in its own sub-region. The Centre works closely with Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) in developing, hosting and maintaining an economic intelligence hub which provides a gateway to key data and economic reports on the sub-region as well as hosting relevant strategies and plans.

An Assessment of the Outcomes of the Social Incubator Fund

In July 2012, the Cabinet Office established a £10 million Social Incubator Fund as part of its broader strategy to grow the UK’s social investment market. The aim of the project was to assess the success and effectiveness of different forms of incubator and their finance and business support packages on the development of early stage social ventures. Acting as a sub-consultant to policy consultancy ICF Consulting, Nick Henry provided expert peer review on the evaluation methodology, findings and recommendations.


Beyond fear and hate: mobilising people power to create a new narrative on migration and diversity

Across Europe political and media debates on migration and diversity have become increasingly negative. There is growing evidence that narratives of fear and hate have moved from fringe positions to occupy the mainstream, changing the terms of the debate in many countries. This project explores who is driving dominant narratives on migration and diversity and their purpose.


The Blended Diet Study: the perceived benefits and risk of using a blended diet with children and young people with complex health needs and enteral feeding requirements

The use of a blended diet as an alternative to prescribed formula feeds has provoked strong opinion in research and among professionals. The aims of the report will be to examine the evidence for best practice with regards to providing a blended diet via gastrostomy tube.
