A final year Fine Art student from Coventry University has created a stunning end of year project based on nature and inspired by photography of tropical islands.

Diana Nour, 22, originally from Romania, has used nature as her muse for all of her artwork since high school and chose to continue with this theme for her final Degree Show project. She was also inspired by her father who instilled in her a key principle – love the life, not the material.

Her paintings are based on series of aerial panoramas Diana took following a significant amount of travelling over the past three years. Exploring different aspects of water, her final project will consist of ten paintings in total.

Diana said:

I want the audience to see nature through my eyes and to go back home and ask themselves when is the last time when they thought about nature as something we depended upon - not money, jobs or everything that is material.

Diana previously held an exhibition in her home city after graduating from her art high school, showcasing 20 of her paintings. She is also involved in an exhibition in Brussels in September 2012, organised in the European Parliament.

Diana’s paintings will be on show in the art studio space in Graham Sutherland building, Gosford Street, Coventry. Entry is free and open to public from 8th June 2012.
